Facebook withdraws its pre-installed applications from the new Huawei phones
Facebook has stopped allowing Huawei's new phones to include pre installed the company's applications, such as Facebook, Instagram and Whats App, as reported by Reuters, although existing terminals could continue to use them.
Facebook's ban takes place after the veto established by the United States Government, according to which US companies can not do business with the Chinese manufacturer Huawei or provide their products.
As confirmed by Facebook to Europa Press, the new Huawei phones that leave the factory will not be able to carry pre-installed apps for Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, among others.
"We are reviewing the final order of the US Department of Commerce and the general temporary license granted recently, and we will take steps to ensure compliance," a spokesperson for Facebook confirmed in a statement.
Facebook applications are not included as standard in the Android operating system, currently used by Huawei, but some technology manufacturers such as the Chinese giant include them pre-installed in their devices so that their customers do not have to download them when they start using their phones.
However, according to Europa Press, the Huawei 'smartphones' that already have these applications will not be affected, and will be able to continue using them and receiving 'software' updates for them as they have up to now.
